All I can say having come from my family farm being burnt out twice is, home survived both times, living in or near scrub/bushland comes with risk.
If you do nothing prepare for the worst.
If you choose to keep the place tidy you may have a chance......maybe.
In 1983, Ash Wednesday in SA, the fire that started near McLaren Flat, 43 degrees with very strong winds there is little anyone could do.
Our house had a patch of government owned scrub next door that we kept tidy.....that was all that save our home twice.
The CFS need to be given the power to make people clean up their properties and to put in fire breaks.
The tree hugging greenies need to be ignored and replaced with common sense.
