    John25.....your experience and that of your ancestor.....only 17 years of age.....are totally lost in this whole 'historical debate.' Young Australian teenage mothers also had their babies taken from them at birth...they didn't even get the opportunity to hold them before they were taken, only to have them fostered out to families (total strangers) and never to see them again. This could be viewed as a type of 'stolen generation' ….victims should feel bitter & hurt.....it had nothing to do with the colour of their skin.....it was how churches & governments handled teenage pregnancies of the day instead of brutal backyard abortions that often ended in tragedy. How far back does one go in history.....isn't the wisdom of hindsight either a pearl of wisdom or a poisonous dart ? Fact is....it's history...it cannot be changed. The message should be perhaps recognition that many events in the world's history aren't proud moments for many......accept it...it cannot be changed....move on & try to learn for the future.
