With an abundance of raw materials to mine and explore, Australia is widely considered the lucky country.
The giant island is the world's largest exporter of coal, zirconium, lead, zinc, iron ore, diamonds and rutile, the second largest exporter of gold and uranium, and the third largest exporter of aluminium.

Most of Australia's ASX 200 list is packed with companies specialising in mining and materials, with Evolution Mining, Fortescue Metals, Newcrest Mining, and Rio Tinto all gracing the list.

Its 17th year will provide an opportunity for mineral explorers and miners to present compact technical updates on activities at their South Australian mines and exploration projects.

Speakers for this year come from BHP, Andromeda Metals and the South Australian Energy and Mining Department.
