Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1 and morning crew.

    Half-time wrap:

Australian shares joined a regional retreat after interest rate worries triggered Wall Street's worst night in three weeks.

The ASX 200 slumped 64 points or 0.9%. The reversal undid three days of gains and drove the index back into negative territory for the week.

Tech and resource stocks were the biggest drags following sharp overnight falls in the US. All three major US indices lost at least 1%. The Nasdaq was hit hardest with a loss of 1.87%. The Dow's 1.08% decline was its largest since March.

In Asia, the regional Dow shed 1.35%, Japan's Nikkei 225 index 1.92% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index 0.97%.

S&P 500 futures were neutral ahead of a speech tonight from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that is expected to clarify the outlook for official rates.

Personal trading: Traded the first-hour swings in WHC and JDO. Nothing since.
