    What I am saying is that they should be classed as independent at 18 not 22. They are old enough to vote yet still being assessed on their parents income. Yes we earn too much but do not earn enough to support our children if they were to move out of home and we budget well and are not extravagant by any means. Reign in the 'part' pension and overhaul the disability payments and cover this gap from 18 to 22 where they should be classed as independents.I mean you can't claim family payment after your child is 17 so why then are they not classed as independent. It severely restricts study away from home.
