So there it is Umpire calls Ball 1

raises his fingers 1 and 1 on each hand

another throw at the plate, keeps the batter interested but not really swinging at it. Not sure how many balls they have thrown in the past but it is a few. Its a slow game down by 1 strike, spectators are restless and consuming food and beer. its only a matter of time before the manger calls for the relief pitcher(who could that be?) to get something on target. we certainly don't want to keep seeing the batter get a walk to first only to get out at second( Apceth), there is a batter at third(Fuji) will he make it home or not is the question on the crowds mind. 

         what we really want is a rigged game a pitcher to throw a juicy one that is smashed out of the stadium, will we get that? Unlikely but maybe.

Or are we the fielding team so many pitches at the plate that we have got no value from all this effort and over time we still lose?.
