Reading between the lines, you don't sound well at all, almost as if you need some time off & relax in a room full of like minded individuals who would love to meet & greet you, catch up, what ever, after all, aren't you part of the "Family" ? plus family gatherings of this magnitude / scale don't come around that often ! what if we don't have another here in Aus ? Next one might be in Greenville ? Assuming there is a next one ! Who knows ? You need to be there ! You deserve to be there ! Be Ted's proxy ! Otherwise, why don't you try to catch up with a few after work for drinks or dinner before they fly out or sail off back to Tazzie, if it suits ? just a thought.
