Most private equity funds operate for a fixed term, so they never hold anything for the long term, there is always an exit strategy, which usually consists of floating an IPO at highly inflated prices by cooking the books. By the time you, as a retail shareholder get your hands on MBN version 3 shares, all the value would have been stripped out, leaving you with all the downside and zero upside. They would not let anyone else share in the 'value creation' process before that. Why would you leave yourself to getting ripped off for the 3rd time?
