Personally I don't see any mutually beneficial takeover/merger options. Can't see MEP wanting to give up their half of NN, as @williams11 said I wouldn't want to see extra hangers on the board from over there either.
I say let them have their 25% of the JV and 50% of NN and let's continue on to mining.
