Here's my concern/rant.
The Tech is amazing and could change, really change the world for our kids. This why I'm wishing things could speed up. (even forgetting what this could to for the sp.)
In the Crux interview from Oct/2020 James says they were looking for things to get going by Christmas-in 3 months (2020).
Now, I realise the PHDs have actually made that pilot plant and are currently testing (that round black 2 metre device) That's great! Really happy to see it.
I also fully get we're in a pandemic and there are lock-downs and everything is going very slow.
However, In context of what this can do, wouldn't and shouldn't more resources and money be thrown at this?
-Why haven't the feds given NC Uni a blank check?
-From the way James was talking big things were liking to happen this year. It's almost Nov. 2021.
-I've heard the PHDs and uni students are taking 2 months off for the holidays. Sorry but, wouldn't 2-3 weeks be enough since most of them would have been in lock down in NC the last 6 months anyways? Are they going to sleep, watch X-mas movie re-runs?
Ok, I sound like a bit of a jerkhere but, isn't this a big deal to get this project as advanced as fast as possible?
(I'm just a investor and if kick the bucket tomorrow, no big deal. These guys/girls in Newcastle have god like powers to change/save the freaking planet. Even if they fail -they won't. They'd have made massive progress in the right direct for some other CC project?)
Bottle, you mentioned that we'll have a better idea of whats happening in a year!!
In a year I'd like to be making and selling 1,000 of theses full size plants to factory/smokestack around the world.
After WW2 (the U.S ver. that started in '41, not the real WW2 that started for everyone else in '39) the U.S changed their entire industrial might into a war machine-1 focus, make weapons. In 2 years, they had more ships, tanks, guns, planes than soldiers-half their mothball fleet never saw action. Not to mention the creating the A-bomb in 3 years, which was just a crazy idea 5 years before. Like a working CC plant which actually sounds easier.
My point is the climate problem (and I'm NOT a greenie, but, I'm worried for my kids and their kids.) is bigger than all WW's.
So...Why are only 6-10 uni students with limited budget pushing up hill on a technology that James says is PROVEN ??!!
I understand we'll get more info on this in the coming months and that's great.
I just think it's a bigger deal than it's being treated as. I'd personally give this the Manhattan Project treatment.
