One of the myths created on investor forums is that After Pay relies on late fees to support their bottom line. No company does that. It would be a stupid business model that would try to increase late payments in order to improve their profitability. Like all businesses they want to discourage late payments because controlling late payments controls ultimate defaults and improves cashflow management. This is why Optus charges $15 on late payment of a $50 bill and utilities make their hefty discounts subject to timely payment of bills.
