American Rare Earths Inc. has found a monster rare earths deposit in Wyoming. Reported on 9 Feb 2024. They have found 2.34 BILLION metric tons of rare earth minerals, dwarfing claim by one of Wyoming competitors that its 1.2 Million metric ton deposit was one of the biggest discoveries in the world. And this 2.34 billion ton discovery is from only 25% of the project being drilled at the moment.Bearing in mind the higher labor costs in Australia as opposed to US labor costs, and comparing the gigantic size of this discovery compared to Australian rare earth discoveries, I think there a fair chance that Australian rare earth mines may be affected.
