I don't think that comment will save the shorts today.
The problem with shorting is that the most you can ever make is 100% profit (if the company goes bust) but you are exposed to unlimited losses if the share price takes off as you will eventually have to cover your short.
On the other side if you hold shares the most you can ever lose is 100% but if the stars align you can make 1000's of percent and set yourself up for a life of extreme luxury.
Shorter's would do well covering their shorts on this stock before their losses get out of control.
