Maybe they learned from last time when they announced the results (which I believe they had expected them to be positive) so choosing to make quick announcements based on their confidence they went for the shorter route.
However when this wasn't the case and saw what it did to their stock price, as you would expect, this time they are not as keen to reveal such sudden bad news and are basically buying more time to re-evaluate things going forward so it would make sense for them to delay results or go the longer route this time around to prevent a further drop in mc. Either way I think within a few weeks the SP will slowly continue to drop so if you are thinking of buying or loading up my guess would be just before results are expected if you believe them to be positive.
