It is correct division of jobs as you don't want same person in both roles for any period of time IMO. Having an external even as a temp may highlight any issue in corp governance so possible positives . Downside is if you have a very inactive company sec so you lose time and every staff and system change consumes corporate time . Staff turnover and shareholders only seeing ones they have to announce you can paint as positive of negative as it all depends on staff and their replacements and ultimately the skill and knowledge that comes and leaves the business.,
