Happy to be convinced of this but i'm not sure history applies here given the current rate of innovation (in the commercial world). We currently have no use cases for our technology. We have theories but nobody has actually written the software for our hardware. In basic terms, the value of our hardware is related to the amount of software programs and their usefulness. I think it makes a better business case that you have an open market with millions of players developing software for your hardware. This is especially true if there is likely use cases we haven't even thought of before.
