For a good couple of years now several smart countries from around the world have approved Viraleze and advertise it for use as a preventative against Covid 19. In those countries it’s available as another low cost tool to protect it’s citizens, the elderly and the vulnerable.
In Australia, if the stuff ever gets approved, they will not be able to make the representation for Covid prevention. It was approved to be assessed as a medical device. The poisons standard has been amended to confirm the active can be used in a nasal spray and listed as a schedule 2 medicine. Schedule 2 is for use as a therapeutic for (minor ailments or symptoms easily recognised and unlikely to be confused by more serious conditions) such as Covid. So unfortunately for us in Australia and I suspect for similar reasons in the us and uk, because its mechanism of action is so simple and it being so cheap and dispute it being non systemic etc, we cannot advertise or make representations for it as something that is a preventative for what is potentially a life threatening disease. So we have a conflict. This is why a prevention trial was considered pointless imo. Snookered by the Act. Too cautious for our own good.
