Dealsmatey you’re missing my point. The ASX imposes obligations to keep the market informed, that’s only an obligation subject to opinion.
They however impose trading restrictions prior to the release of half yearly and annual accounts, this isn’t discretionary.
They have their own blackout periods that is set out in their governance disclosures.
There is always an issue with Directors being informed ahead of the market and they need to tread carefully when buying shares to consider what is and isn’t sensitive info.
That being said, just because they buy didn’t mean I will.
