AGM presentation said that the company had strong interest for 60% debt funding.
that leaves $160m to find. If you raise that at today’s price you are issuing another 500m which is more than is permitted in the company constitution.
AC would likely find himself unemployed if he tried it.
surely CVN better to let the first 6.5m barrels go at cost rather than give away a 3rd of your company. I’m sure in the current climate their are plenty of organization that would like some light sweet crude at $25 a barrel as a hedge against $200 a barrel in 2025.
