No, they're quite different. The CPS' were held solely by SVW, and had an unknown dilutive effect to current shareholders. They were one of the main reasons I sold out of swm some time ago.
Conversion of the cps' into ordinary shares is a positive outcome for holders. Although it does seem a little silly to pay such high dividends to shareholders and then ask for the funds back a short time later through an equity raising.
