Altura Mining Ltd (ASX:AJM) is an Australian Lithium producer and is a key player in the global lithium market and is leveraging increasing demand for raw materials utilized in manufacturing lithium ion batteries for electric vehicles and static storage.

Altura owns and operates the world class Altura Lithium Project at Pilgangoora in WA’s Pilbara region (approximately 1 hour’s drive south of Port Hedland). The mine commenced production in the second half of 2018 and declared Commercial Production in March 2019 with a production capacity of 220,000tpa of high-quality spodumene concentrate. The Pilgangoora lithium project currently has a 25-year mine life with significant exploration tenements under management. Our dedicated Altura team is charging forward with Lithium.

The Role
We are seeking highly motivated, proactive and experienced Health and Safety professionals to undertake the role of Occupational Health, Safety and Emergency Response Advisor and form an integral part of the ongoing operational success.

Reporting to the HSE Superintendent, the primary focus of the role is to promote and maintain site safety, provide medic services and to coordinate and train the Mines rescue team and

Key responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to:

• Facilitate site inductions, OHS meetings and site OHS presentations to employees;
• Manage and maintain currency of relevant standards and operating procedures;
• Lead and facilitate incident investigations, risk assessments and critical risk management processes;
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with site and regulatory standards;
• Analyzing HSE data, identifying trends, and reporting on HSE performance;
• Respond to onsite emergencies and maintain a state of operational readiness;
• Provide leadership and training services for the emergency response volunteer team and other site departments in emergency management practices;
• Maintain and manage a medical centre on site.

As a minimum these roles will be supported by the following qualifications and experience:

• Diploma or Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum;
• Minimum of 3+ years previous mine experience working in a site-based safety and/or Emergency Response role;
• Certificate IV Health Care (Ambulance);
• Certificate IV Work Place Assessing and Training;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation;
• Prior experience and management of Workers Compensation and knowledge of Injury Management legislation;
• A drive and passion for safe work practices;
• Current Manual C-class driver’s license; and
• Able to work in a FIFO remote environment that experiences extremely hot temperatures.
