Only 1% of what is found is actually mined, economic deposits are hard to find but are worth a lot. High grades can be good but it needs tonnage, metallurgy and location to make it likely to work. It’s best to look in areas that have active mines and the understanding of the geology is pretty good so that finding an economic deposit is more likely.

The intercept of disseminated sulphides in hematite is a good proof of concept and proves the model that the geologist have used. This will have reasonably good grades, they will use this and knowing where the hole drilled and the setting with in the geophysics the hematite sits in will give them an idea whether this is part of a larger pod/body or these will likely exist in permit. This followed up with drilling will vector in on where paydirt is. Hopefully it’s chalcocite/bornite zonage and not chalcopyrite as grades in the chalcocite/bornite zones can be high grade as there is more copper in the compound as a percentage. Bornite will be visible as it’s blue in colour, chalcocite is grey or black in colour so may not be as easily distinguishable in the iron stone.
