I disagree with a lot of what you have said there Eclipse. But that's what this forum is about, opinions. And I certainly am not attacking you. Did I not mention that? However, you mentioned the DFS with such a negative, cocky confidence, so I was asking if you knew anything particular about OUR asset that no-one else does. I do not know what you may or may not know or who your information derives from......
I also disagree with your comment saying "There is absolutely no shortage of high quality bauxite with all the infrastructure in place to keep the bauxite market in balance for decades to come." If you sir did your research you will find there is a shortage of the higher grade out there, And of the higher grades (Above 45%) most have a much higher grade content of reactive silica and gibbsite.
There is a push for GREENER ALUMINIUM. The less reactive and gibbsite silica, the less caustic soda, other chemicals and heat required to convert it to alumina, which of course means less energy used to convert it (Hence Green aluminum)
I agree with your only price indicator being CBIX numbers. However, do yourself a favour Eclipse, only because your so informed and love to research, and see if any companies are paying higher prices than the CBIX pricing GUIDE, for the HIGH GRADE, LOW CONTAMINENT Bauxite? Your research may re-educate you and who knows, you may re-evaluate your investment strategy. And it is only a guide Sir, not a spot price.
To save you some time Sir, I have collated the below just FYI, because I think your special: Please note the silica reference and then compare it to what CAY possess and own 100%.
CBIX Index: CBIX (HT & LT) is “value in use” CIF reference price for a standard gibbsitic bauxite (5% reacting silica, 10% moisture, 50% reacting alumina – 5/10/50) which reflects the market conditions for bauxite imports into China. Each CBIX value is a value in use, trade weighted, average price of a representative sample of bauxite imports into China over a period of about one week. Using the same ViU methodology, we have derived from our CBIX model three regional indexes including Guinea LT, Indonesia LT and Australia HT, each with a standard bauxite specification of their own.
Anyways my point is and in my opinion, all CAY shareholders will have a very rewarding year.
We have had changes at board level (Which was needed IMO), we have cash, we have a mining license due within a few months, we have management travelling in COVID times to Cameroon to progress things (How many other Senior Management in mining companies are doing that ATM?), we have Rick SMITH now based in Cameroon to ensure progress continues (And he has the track record and contacts to progress things), we have Peter SU and all his contacts in China who are well contacted in the Alumina/Bauxite industry, we have marketing starting (Which has been non existent for years), we have a rising aluminum price (Which I disagree is not reflective in the bauxite price, however it is delayed), we also have a tier 1 asset in the making and a Cameroonian Govt that are backing CAY. The Kribi rail link is critical and IMO it's not a matter of IF it get's built, but WHEN! The ports already there doing nothing, why wouldn't all parties want that 130km of rail linking it up built. I could go on and on.
My point is after 10 years being in this company Sir, I have done my research and I continue to BUY.
I'll let you do some of your own research. And again my reason for thinking this is a screaming buy at these prices because I have taken the time to research, ask questions, attend AGM's and ask questions etc etc. I do believe that we will see multiples of these prices in the next 12 months and I believe anyone that has flipped, sold at these levels is crazy. The logistics of what's to come this year, it just doesn't make sense selling at these levels, especially at a loss!!! But none of us have a crystal ball and I may be completely wrong, but I believe CAY will be the next Bauxite success story in the not too distant future Sir.
