What is the earliest that BLM will announce its decision? My guess is December 15.

It won’t come before the November 8 election. It won’t even be before the votes are counted – that could continue until November 15.Then it’s getting too close to the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24. And what BLM is looking at is 30 days after the announcement, because that’s when they have to start work on the lawsuit challenging it. They don’t want to do that during the Christmas and New Year holidays, especially when senior government officials have “use or lose” leave to take before the end of the year.

That means the second week in December. An announcement then will put the court challenge after the final hearing on the LAC case in Nevada. BLM and the Justice Department don’t have that many lawyers to work on mining challenges that involve Native American environmental issues. They will be available after that hearing. Or, they may choose to wait until Judge Du issues her decision, probably in late January.

What do you think of the rumor posted on the BHL message board, that both Rio Tinto and Albemarle are looking at the Arizona claims? If Bradda Head investors can post such rumors, AZL should demand equal time.
