From my knowledge of IO, 3 - 5 units of SI refers to Silica content. So 3-5 should refer to %, and 3-5 % silica is quite ok. As for anything like 75% fe, well that is not very realistic. I am sure any (decent) Geologist in here will confirm you can not get IO over 70%.
