    Thanks Wes!

Mate, did you know that COSCO Shipping is a Chinese state owned multinational conglomerate headquartered in Shanghai?

Check out the COSCO Shipping overview page.

    https://ports.coscoshipping.com/en/AboutCSP/CorporateProfile/Overview/

Ok let's delve into this collaboration further with the little information we have publicly available.

    1. COSCO Shipping and Fortescue will collaborate on developing technologies to lower emissions and build a green fuel supply chain.

    2. This includes exploring the construction and deployment of COSCO SHIPPING vessels or co-owned vessels. Cosco Shipping has over 1400 vessels!

Look at their upstream and downstream industry chain links - shipping, terminals, logistics, shipping finance, ship repair and shipbuilding.

Please have a read of this https://en.coscoshipping.com/col6918/art/2016/art_6918_45339.html

    3. The vessels will be powered by green ammonia.

    4. Their aim is to reduce Australia-China Iron Ore Green Shipping Corridor’s carbon emissions.

    5. They'll be shipping iron ore and other mineral products.

What was also highlighted was this...

“It also paves the way for collaboration on a variety of decarbonisation solutions which we believe will be integral to delivering on our ambitious target of net zero Scope 3 emissions by 2040.”

What are the "variety of decarbonisation solutions" that they are talking about?

What's making these shipping collaborations/partnerships possible? That's an easy one... Fortescue's Green Pioneer, which is already operational. What else do we now know? That the Green Pioneer technology will be applied to decarbonisse Fortescue's 80 ships.

Fortescue Energy CEO, Mark Hutchinson, said, “Fortescue is a technology group accelerating commercial decarbonisation through heavy industry, rapidly, profitably, and globally. Our commitment to delivering real solutions to eliminate emissions is unwavering and The Green Pioneer stands as a testament to our delivery capability and dedication, showcasing the future of green ammonia as a marine fuel.”

“Our work doesn’t stop here though. We now call upon regulators, ports, and institutions to join us in accelerating the adoption of ammonia as a marine fuel. Together, let's create green maritime hubs and corridors, ushering in a new era of sustainable shipping.”

There are posters such as @madamswer that at least will question some of the things that aren't clear or that just don't quite add up, which also helps us to dig deeper in our research, so I welcome more of that questioning and discussion.

The naysayers will continue with all their negativity Wes jumping at whatever the media feeds them and you can see right through that. Look at how many have suddenly appeared It's all they have, nothing more.

    Cheers,
    Tony
