The new owners have only owned it for a few months, give them a chance, SGH has that many bits and piecies to it and bolted on, it would be a nightmare to try and sort out and madness to engage any sort of autopilot at this stage, they also need to consider the people/staff, who can be moved where they can fit in etc.
Don't forget the new owners didn't create this mess they're trying to sort it out.

Yes but my understanding was that anchorage et al are in the business of purchasing distressed assets. restructures and downsizing post aquisition would be extremely common and this type of issue with the union is extremely easy to avoid with competant a communication strategy. Incidently thats a large part of what a PR department is for.
