Your last point is an important one. As the face of Forager, he is in the public eye. But I wonder whether he’d be better off with less media duties (or similar to your line of thinking). The Australian fund is closed, so not really gathering funds. The International fund needs to perform otherwise no amount of media duties is going to help.
There has been plenty of shade thrown at his team. Looking at other fund managers and their performance, it has been a hard year for most. So there doesn’t appear to be many talented analysts floating around and delivering great returns. Even if there were, how would you attract them. They would probably just start their own fund like Forager.
