I used to mind-vomit all of my thoughts and ideas in relation to investment ideas into written words that I would publish either onto HC, or back in the day onto the disqus commentary at the bottom of TII articles or into emails.

The motive wasn't vanity, it was to ensure that my ideas could withstand criticism and that I understood what I was doing well enough to articulate it.

I wonder if the only benefit that Steve saw in his commentary of previous years was candor. I also wonder if the benefits that I identified for myself, existed for Steve but he was unaware of their existence.
