This was the point @huaneng was conveying in his post. He was not suggesting to not declare a discovery as per ASX rules, rather his opinion was that it doesn't have to be a sample to surface using an MDT tool NOW. He was of the opinion SM was desperate to call the discovery at the expense of the well condition. We can argue for or against this. He opined a Drilling engineer is more likely to want to protect the integrity of the well than a Reservoir engineer would. The later may push it more than the former. He believes SM is pushing it now.

Well could be cased now, then perforated and flow tested at a later date fulfilling ASX requirement- Huaneng point.

Problem is, M2 success case has already been defined as a sample to surface. SM defined this in his interview with NI with a flow test next year to prove commerciality.

Unfortunately, Mr Huaneng, the market will punish IVZ for failing to bring a sample to surface now and the SP will remain depressed until flow test next year. Potential is nothing until proven as far as the market is concerned.
