'How the World Really Works' a book recently written by Vaclav Smil is a great read to gain perspective on how the world has come to rely on fossil fuels for energy, agriculture and the material world we live in. Solar panels and wind farms are not going to solve the enormous amount of electricity the world consumes. Behind nuclear, coal and gas remains the most highly efficient production of energy for electricity.
