Nice thought bubble. I don't think you realise CRNs Curragh mine supplies 4Mt/yr to the Stanwell power station at a ridiculously low price with high royalty payments. Its a brilliant deal for the QLD government and not for shareholders
In the March Quarter, Curragh received US596m-554m (Coal Revenues - Met Coal Revenues) = US42m for supplying 2.8Mt-1.8Mt (Sales Volume - Met sales volume) = 1Mt of thermal coal at a cost of US131.3m (Operating costs per Mt sold). ie it cost them US89m in the March Q to supply 1Mt thermal coal to Stanwell. And you want that to apply to New Acland, which unlike Curragh has no met coal to try and make the numbers passable?
