Follow what the USA are doing.
Granting large consumers of electricity ( Defence ) with renewable and storage.
and replacing Base load power station with nuclear that can meet the entire demand if required too.

I have said this before here on this chat. You need to fix the energy problem at the source of the problem. And that is at the consumer!
Take the consumer load off the utility and the utility becomes stable. That means solar and battery at the end of the utility line supply.
You can throw wind in there if you like But its the most inefficient source of energy supply by far - along with its massive footprint via minerals resources mining manufacturing and land consumption. I mean solar aint great either - but its far better of the two
