It does raise some questions, doesn't it?
Michael Holmes was for nearly a decade with the company - most of the time as VP / COO ... then came a 18 months stunt as CEO and here is the resignation - coming as well with a golden hand-shake.
I guess after 8 years they hopefully knew his leadership skills (or lack thereof) before appointing him to CEO, though COO's are obviously operating more tactically than strategically, but still - something stinks.
Maybe Michael received (and accepted) a better job offer from a competitor - which might explain why he is not working out his notice period - but than, why the need for a golden handshake?
Some explanations certainly would be useful ... otherwise we might start wondering whether this board is really the best the company deserves ...
