All you need to look at is the $1b in tax this asset will generate....and then on top of that the income tax revenue from the labour force onsite, and supporting companies. My understanding on the subject of endangered species is it is only an issue if the species is not found anywhere else i.e. it would need to be proven that this particular area was the only place that the lizards lived...and if you look at satellite images the whole bloody region looks the same. Arid.
Locals cannot afford housing. Stuck in low paying hospitality jobs. You really think they will turn down am opportunity to own a home?
