@Quiltman, that was such a good post I went back and read it again. What surprised me was the speed of the takeover/buyout, first approach from party A in May to Biogen buying Reata outright for $US7.2 Billion in September. I suspect that is an exception to the rule, rather than the rule. But it shows how quickly things can happen. Particularly when you have more than 1 party interested, this adds support to ADs comments, put yourself out there first then start checking the temperature of the water to find out exactly where you are. One thing that may help expedite things is the list of Majors that have had failures in the ALS, AD and PD areas in the past. There is a list. All these majors would still have their previous market research etc in a drawer somewhere, along with all the other DD. It may need updating, but a lot has been done.

@adreamer Your levels of behavior relating to first dates suggest you are a Gentleman and what most women would consider a Keeper. But what if we get a really good offer out of the blue ?
