LOL No such thing as a bargain in made-to-order anything let alone top shelf jewellery!!

Diamond : going on those 2018 figures (which I don't believe) a diamond for $20000 USD is $27,556 AUD at todays exchange rate.
Ring : Price of Gold today in AUD is $2241 oz or $72.07 per Gram. Multiple that many times from a retailer! Lets say around x4 or $288gm. Rings are between 3gm and 10gms so going on 8grams = $2306
Raw materials = around $30,000
Design: Depends on the complication of the request etc etc - How long is a piece of string?
Making it: Ditto above

Easy to see how the price of $50,000 was arrived at.
Personally I think the 'arriving part' (chosing the stone & creating the design) is the most fun/enjoyable, and how do you put a price on that??
