I'm also a Cassini shareholder and they were permitted to use a portion of inferred - roughly 1/4 of the total production target, with the rest being indicated. According to its scoping study they were able to use inferred because "Inferred Resources do not determine the economic viability of the project as approximately 80% of resources within the optimisation pit shells are in the Indicated Category during the pay-back period."

I can only speculate that the ASX was not satisfied the West Zone did not determine the economic viability of the project, even though CLA was of the view that the West Zone did not feature "as a significant proportion early in the mine plan".
