It should be a breeze to be the boss of Qantas now, they own nothing, everything is hocked or outsourced. Just promote whatever is the “woke thing” at present and keep giving Chairman’s lounge access to people who create the narrative that Qantas is better than ever. Meanwhile Joyce walks away about 300 million or more richer for having been there.
Joyce was such a fake CEO as his only real
skill was being a wannabe thug, a real bully and he had no ability other than to cut service standards and staff. Anyone can do that so he wasn’t special in a creative way, just a grub.
No doubt he will get 1a every time he flies for life, much more than people who gave 30 and 40 years service and were made redundant via email.
Privatise the profits and socialise the losses. That’s the Qantas way now.
