By the way, trials can run in a COVID-impacted environment (it takes a lot to stop medical research from happening), but the study group will just need to submit a COVID risk management plan to the Human Research Ethics Committee to explain how they can work around potential interruptions to data collection - e.g., they can perform some parts of the trial at home (e.g., medical history interview over zoom or phone etc).

The research team, led by Prof. Sinclair, is highly experienced and will have considered the effects of COVID in their plan and timeline.
