    Some encouraging news for fuel cells and therefore for platinum in the link below, but opinion possibly biased as the Steve Chu himself does research into fuel cells.
    I share a similar sentiment that the platinum minerals have to wait a while before really becoming established, but will be massive if fuel cells do become more important in 5-10 years time. And that is long wait for many people to hope Greenland will come of the ground. Maybe there will be more interest and therefore easier funding when fuel cells become the new hype in the current energy revolution, until then..



    Full article is behind a paywall, but this may give an idea. It basically comes down that lithium batteries are suitable for EV on environmental/moral grounds but not for non-mobile energy storage (eg what Elon Musk just build in South-Australia) as just too expensive and fuel cells are a lot cheaper, but still will take a while to become more sophisticated and mainstream (vanadium flow batteries were not discussed in the article)
