Here is the other way to determine the mine's output.


WKT provided the following details in May

Today they updated they had increased the stockpiles by 24.5k tonnes due to mining, if you add this to the figure above, the total amount of graphite ore WKT had available was 58,500 tonnes

WKT confirms they now have 43,500 tonnes of graphite ore, which means they have processed at least 15,000 tonnes of graphite ore over the first 2 months of production, Now this production rate is around 5% of the annual throughput rate,

This is where it gets interesting, If WKT is currently operating at 5% of the annual throughput (15k tonnes processed), they should produced around 2100 tonnes of graphite in the first 2 months, yet WKT had only achieved 240 tonnes. This is only 1.6% of the material processed, (no doubt plenty is sitting in the cells being processed, If you use the annual production throughput rate of 25k tonnes per month, the plant currently running at less at 1% of its design output.

Something doesn't sound right if WKT is claiming they are recovering 87% of the contained graphite, Which might be true if the throughput rate is only running a few percent, It is going to be pretty scary if the graphite ore is currently allowed to sit around in the floatation cells for an extended period, what are the rates going to look like when they increase the throughput to 30-100%, What impact will this have on the flake size and purity.
