So the main issue with the reduced forecast to 100ktpa is mainly an issue of reduced recoveries (currently at just under 50%) versus 70% (what PLS etc are getting).
Most producers went through the same process, including PLS, early in their mine life. It is universally a problem.
It has to do with getting the feedstock processes right, and getting the right additions to filter out different impurities.
This is mostly a processes of trial and error, and a unique process for every mine an orebody. It usually takes about a quarter and a half to get right.
As CXO pointed out, all major mines have managed to get this up to 70+% eventually, and they are confident of getting this up.
Unfortunately there is not much you can do to speed this up, as each ore is slightly different.
Given it’s only a few weeks our DMS has been running, I am fairly confident we will get to an industry standard of 70% with a bit of time, and beat our forecast.
