It would make sense to expect the share price to retrace to 70c only if the buying on the market was due to it being widely known that the company had received a takeover offer, but didn't know the price. That would appear not to be the case. Therefore the climb to $1 was due to something else, and revelation of the takeover is basically irrelevant.
