Some of the major super fund platform providers only allow SMSF's direct share investment in the ASX 300 companies.
This is why some smsf investors now say I can buy PET when it is formally included in the index.
and the same for mainstream active Australian Equites fund managers who may now consider an investment if it meets their investment criteria once it's in the index.
The fund managers who have considered investing in PET to date are likely to have been the niche local and overseas ESG ( environmental) fund managers.
The big step is to get into the ASX 200 Index because then the passive or Index managers who replicate the ASX 200 index will be 'forced to' to buy it.
Then it will get a serious price kicker as well as from from algorithmic, value agnostic and momentum styled hedge fund type managers.
