I follow a few O&G stocks and they intervals they are usually perforating are usually less than 300 metres thick. However they sometims to lateral drilling that can be 1km +
Also I've noted that some of the people with O&G industry knowledge refute claims that a thicker interval will lead to higher flow rates. It just indicates a bigger resource / reserve.
Notably O&G producers have all sorts of tricks to increase flow rates. I don't know is acid / hydraulic fracturing can be applied to HSA but I don't see why not. Essentially you are trying to increase permeability to improve flow rates (assuming other factors remain constant - pressure, etc)
Lastly, if temperature is king, what stops Panax drilling a 1km lateral along the lower portion of the target interval so that most of the fluid coming up is 171C rather than being averaged down by taking in lower temp fluids from higher up.
