I honestly don't believe everything tied to the sp is the doing of shorters.
If it was, and there were no shorters, then the sp would be the same and have little to no movement over these past 2 years. I understand that shorters sell high and buy back low, that being the desired outcome. Not to sure they trade for pips.
I would think there is a lot more to do with brokers, clients, retail and day traders.
I honestly don't believe everything tied to the sp is the doing...
