Yup, most major metro plants have sludge digesters. They stabilise the biosolids for reuse/disposal and typically burn off biogas produced using onsite reciprocating engines. It's quite rare these sites take on third party wastes however (SA Water has trialed liquid wastes in the past to my knowledge).
