How about liquidity ?
Are there really enough buyers and sellers in the market to reflect the true market price ? Just another angle we could look into to explain this small arbitrage rather than speculating there was another bid.( which i would have no problems with of course)
Or the deal was so solid that, people took massive leverage to amplify the gain ?
As with the shorts, this could be some hedge fund sell short some of their own holdings to lock in the selling price to protect themselves in case the deal didn’t go through.
