You make very good pointsThese are bureaucracy and may not save now, only in the future for a cost line that is probably not capable of 'dicing and slicing' to measure the value. The unpredictable events in most organisations and not managed well, much 'helter skelter'.
In the US, you hear time and again the observation on the news 'this is the first tornado ever. This is probably because if the narrow path of Tornados. a bit of 'the lightening does not strike twice in the same location'.
The integration with existing systems must be a very 'testing expectation'.
If they can pull off the Amazon deal on a few US sites, there are another 1000 plus sites in the US. Then there are all of the other Amazon warehouse / distribution centres around the world. That will represent massive savings from managing automating and systematising the the separate deliveries from suppliers.
If then 3DP system is adopted by Amazon on the inbound product and dock automation, this should be a company making deal. Others will then follow. I understand that Amazon was difficult about the 31 December.
